After completing a tour of 82 sold-out concerts in theatres in more than 10 countries with her first album, con cariño y con cuidado, Valeria presents her second full length album, el cuerpo después de todo. Produced by eight-time Latin Grammy winner Carles Campi Campón (Jorge Drexler, Natalia Lafourcade, Vetusta Morla), this album is an exercise in artistic and personal maturity. In it, the artist gives way to a strong woman who faces her fears with courage. It is a puzzle of emotions that connects with our deepest and most dormant feelings. Valeria, always true to her essence, seems to remind us of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s famous words from The Little Prince: ‘What is essential is invisible to the eye’.
At the age of 25, Valeria Castro (La Palma, 1999), the young talent discovered by Alejandro Sanz years ago on Instagram and with whom he later sang ‘Corazón partío’ live, has gone from rising star to become one the most promising voices in the Spanish-speaking world. This is backed by noteworthy acknowledgements such as two Latin Grammy nominations, one in 2023 for Best Author's Song for ‘La raíz’ and in 2024 for ‘La ceniza’, in collaboration with the artist from the Canary Islands Ale Acosta, two Goya nominations, the first in 2023 for Best Original Song together with Vetusta Morla for ‘El amor de Andrea’, from the film of the same name (Music Academy Award for Best BSO Song) and in 2024 for ‘El borde del mundo’, composed and performed for the film El 47; among many others.
