2025 will mark the 20th anniversary of the release of Pánico, Chilean singer-songwriter Manuel Garcia’s first solo record, after having played and published three albums with the band Mecánica Popular. From December 2024 to December 2025, Manuel Garcia, who is from Arica, will tour his country and part of Latin America and Europe to present the 13 songs of his debut album, as well as some of the most noteworthy pieces of his career and other new songs.
Pánico –in 2008 ranked 34th by the Chilean edition of the Rolling Stone magazine in the category of Best Chilean Record of all time– honours the essence of the great Chilean troubadours (Víctor Jara, Violeta Parra, Patricio Manns) with poetic, social and romantic songs in which Manuel Garcia reflects on the history of Chile and Latin America.
Manuel García is also preparing the release of the album Pánico (Versión Manuel García, VMG), a new edition under his own label with a different cover and a different order of songs, which will be released before the end of 2024. At the same time, he has just released his tenth studio album, La jaula de los sueños olvidados, considered his most political album and which has been received with praise in the music press.
Manuel García is one of Chile’s most respected and loved artists. He is the winner of the 2008 Chilean National Music Award, the 2020 Gardel Awardl (Argentina) for Best Conceptual Album (Abrazo de hermanos), the 2022 Award for Best Chilean Singer-Songwriter, and of the Cuban Institute of Music commemorative medal for the 50th anniversary of the Nueva Trova movement. He has 10 studio albums, 3 live albums and 3 produced in collaboration with other artists. In Spain, he has shared the stage with artists such as El Kanka, Rozalén, Muerdo, Depedro and Martirio, amongst others.
